The last hurdle to becoming a Full Amateur Radio operator is the Advanced Exam.
This course is where you really start to learn about Amateur Radio and Electronics. There is quite a lot of theory involved, and it isn’t an easy exam!
The Advanced course at Newton-le-Willows Amateur Radio Club is run by Electronic engineers and experienced Amateur Radio operators that gained excellent marks on their own Advanced Exam so you can be sure that the instructors are capable of delivering a course that will fully prepare you for the Advanced exam. We believe it is important that our instructors are of the highest calibre, and don’t struggle with the technical aspects of the course.
Unlike the Foundation and Intermediate exam which can be run as and when required, the Advanced Exam is only run on set dates throughout the year, so we always have a target date in mind when we start the course. We normally run our exams on a Tuesday evening, but can run one on a Saturday afternoon or Sunday Morning (subject to room hire) so there are plenty of opportunities spread throughout the year.
